Chhaupadi system is one of the deep rooted social problem of Nepal.In this system,Hindu women are prohibited to perform normal household works during their menstrual period.They are considered as tainted during this period and kept in cattle shed.The eastern region is free from these problems but the western inhabitants are following these types of bad and unusual social problem.The menstrued women are kept away from society during the menstrual period.Government is working to eliminate such social problem and getting success too.It is mainly followed in the rural district of nepal like Dadeldhura,Baitadi,Bajhang,Darchula etc.
                                            

Chhaupadi system have many effects on the society and the victim. During the menstrual period womens are prohibited to work at home,school,kitchens etc.During this period they are kept away from healthy diet.They are fed with dry fruits,rice etc.which do not gives enough energy to fight against the illness and regular blood loss.Mensuration is a natural phenomenon.It happens in the life of every women.Large numbers of womens are dying in Nepal only due to the snake bite,lack of nutritional foods,lack of secrecy etc.numbers of womens are dying because of being raped in the cattle shed or menstrual hut.Hundreds of womens are dying due to the infection of dirty cloth.sanitary pads are not available.People do not know anything about sanitary pads.There are various problems that are being created in the society because of chhaupadi system. Here are the problems and solutions of chhaupadi system :
                                                            Problems
During the menstrual period,Womens already have severe problems like dizziness,regular bleeding from vaginal parts and lack of energy.Already having such dangerous problems,they are kept in cowshed without any security.There is lack of awareness,knowledge etc.to handle such difficult problem.People are not known to sanitary pads and they are using cloth which can create various kind of infections.In today's world people are following such meaningless religious faith.They have the traditional belief in favour of such social problem.
                                                              Solutions 
  During the menstrual period,they have severe problems.To deal with such problem they should be fed with nutritious diet,soup and fresh fruits and vegetables.They should take care of their health and sanitation.They should be kept in house with proper security.We should create awareness programs and provide quality education to eliminate such problems from society.Ladies should be motivated to 
use sanitary pad,not clothes.Let's together work to create a chhaupadi free society.
